Match each selfie to its role
Photo 1 replaces the opening left listener wearing headphones and is required. Photo 2 replaces the opening right speaker holding a book and is optional. With only photo 1, the reference speaker remains. These slots follow the characters through close-ups and the ending.
Left and right refer to the opening preview. The listener returns in reaction close-ups; the speaker is tracked while talking and leaving. Do not assign roles only by where a person appears in a later close-up.
Show a clear face and the clothes you want
Use an unobstructed face in good light, with hair and intended outfit visible. A waist-up photo provides useful clothing detail. Avoid dark or blurry faces, heavy filters and a photo containing two competing faces. You do not need to wear headphones or hold a book: those are reference props.
A neutral portrait is fine. The reference supplies reactions and movement; a deliberately awkward facial expression or a Smiths T-shirt is not required.
Check identity through the full sequence
Inspect both faces where they appear together, then the listener’s headphone reaction, the speaker close-up and the final listener reaction. Photo assignment guides identity but does not guarantee perfect similarity, hands or lip movements.
